OUTCRY was an independent conference, organised and run by psychiatric users and survivors to discuss the implications of the Draft Mental Health Bill - and to join forces against the increased use of compulsion and fear in the mental health system. It took place on 20th September, and comments received back from the day have hailed it as a thought provoking and energising. You can find out more about this conference (including a report of the day) by browsing this site.

NEW! The Draft Mental Health Bill is on the horizon - to find out more about it see the 'protest' section on this website. PAB is launching it's 'Behind Closed Doors' campaign to send a firm message to the government that we DO NOT want this Bill to be made law. It will consist of a range of actions, and the first protest is taking place on Thursday 27th November outside the Department of Health building in London. For more information click HERE

Following hot on the heels of OUTCRY we're now in the process of organising a national psychiatric user/survivor/refuser alliance to give us a stronger voice in the future. The first steering group meeting took place on Thursday 20th November in London, and if you're interested in getting involved in these early stages (or just want to get some more information) then please get in touch with us. The details of this meeting can be found in the 'alliance' section of this website.
